New website, new UKRSA sponsors and benefits for UKRSA members. Join us today and become part of the success story of the UKRSA,
Saturday 25th, semi final stages, players on court warming up for their matches later on. Myself and Nick Down are waiting for rackets to arrive from the players and the public. The Dunlop machines have worked well, tensions selections have been lower than last year. We have seen a lot of the latest fad of shaving away the sides of the top bumper strip so as to reduce weight and hopefully increase racket head speed. This of course exposes the underlying graphite to damage from abrasion and prangs on the walls. Just the Pro’s so far, hopefully it will not spread to the general squash playing community. The bumper strips are there to do a protection job.
British Open Squash Champs – Hull University. Brand new sports complex and this year we have the Masters Age Groups in action as well. Nick Down and I are stringing on behalf of Dunlop all this week. There have been some great matches already, using the two Dunlop electronic machines, got through around 45 rackets yesterday, early starts as usual and steady stringing throughout the day. Two free restrings for the Pro players that Dunlop pay for, so business is brisk! Nick is Lead stringer for this event and has been busy doing all the pre-event preparations. Back to Lincolnshire after a trip to Ireland to run two courses in Limerick and Dublin. Well done to all successful course members at Ashbrook LTC and Limerick LTC. We also now have Irish course tutors who can deliver the training courses locally and throughout the whole of Ireland. I had other meetings in Dublin that overlapped the Tennis Coach Conference where David Hall had a presentation to introduce a Snauwaert deal for the coaches. So, a very good week in Ireland for the UKRSA, Liam
