Suitable for all levels\, from those who have no previous experience\, to those who are already stringing but now wish to achieve the certification and check out their skills and knowledge. Day 1 covers tennis & squash\, Day 2 carries on into badminton. All aspects of racket servicing will be covered to a professional standard. Your tutor will be Liam Nolan\, UKRSA Technical Director & Founder. Liam may be joined by other course tutors who are resident in Ireland. \nWe will have 3 stringing machines available to use – Prince 6000 electronic machine\, Dunlop 3.0 electronic machine and a Tyger manual machine. Course members may bring along their own machines to work on if they wish. Rackets can also be taken along to work on if so wished. \nCourse fee is £349.00. Payable in advance when booking\, or direct into UKRSA account if so wished. Email liam@ukrsa.com for details. Each course member receives around €100 of free strings. A years UKRSA membership is included. This allows stringers to access the Technical Forum for technical support afterwards. Certification is awarded at the end of the course. SUMMARY:POSTPONED - STRINGING DEVELOPMENT Course - Norwich UKRSA HQ  2023
DESCRIPTION:Due to family illness\, this event will need to be run later in the year\, many apologies\, Liam \nThis is the first of monthly one-day course aimed at those who are already stringing rackets but who may wish to get things checked out over a busy full day of racket servicing action. Most stringers who have been stringing for some years will not have been through a formal training course. Thats absolutely fine. As long as you are doing things that make sense and keep customers returning\, then good. What we will be doing is checking that all is being done correctly. \nWe will spend time on answering your questions on why things are done in a certain way. What actually happens when the ball hits the strings\, how tensions can affect everything\, how racket frames need protection\, what the professional players demand and why\, how to run a successful stringing business. Its YOUR day to ask questions and hopefully I can give some answers. \nYou can bring along some rackets to work on if you wish\, badminton\, squash or tennis\, though I have plenty here anyway. We will be working on two machines – Wilson Baiardo Lite and the latest Dunlop 3.0. \nYour cost for the day is the usual £199.00 which will include one years UKRSA membership\, free strings to take away\, refreshments and usual biccies and sandwiches etc. \nHEALTH WARNING – I have a 11 months old Staffy pup who will lick anyone to extreme measures! DESCRIPTION:Hi all\, we have – finally – managed to arrange an excellent venue for the next UKRSA Workshop\, followed next day by the Racket Customising course. \nThe first Workshop we ran\, in Milton Keynes was a great success. It was so good for the members to be able to meet up at last\, put faces to names and also learn a few things. Last time round we had the Marketing session run by Paul Stewart and I was glued to my seat as that man knows just about everything there is to know about how to make sure that your skills and knowledge are properly advertised and presented. Makes no difference whether its stringing\, customising or coaching\, presentation and delivery in a professional manner is the key to keeping a good customer base. \nThis is also your chance to chat about your stringing business and share experiences. Its a 9.15 am start with coffee and then a 4.30pm finish. There will also be an evening session to cover Tournament Stringing\, led by David Hall. Anyone already involved in the tournaments or who wish to become involved\, this is for you. \nThe Workshop will be focused on all aspects of stringing – machines\, strings\, grips and you will have your chance to play around on the new Dunlop 3.0 machine. A good chance to ask questions on all aspects of racket servicing. We are also looking for new course tutors\, so don’t be shy! We will be running more Course Tutor training courses later on in Frinton. We will have a good natter re what YOU want from the UKRSA and whether we need to make any changes. \nIf you have any equipment that you wish to sell then do bring it along. I will be bringing two manual machines to sell\, plus bundles of spare strings. \nThe cost for the day will be just £60 and this will include all refreshments\, your lunch and probably enough freebies to cover your cost! \nNext day is the certificated Racket Customising course and your chance to learn about how to alter a rackets weight\, swingweight and balance\, how to match up rackets for specs\, make adjustments to handles\, grips and take frames apart. We will have a selection of machines to use\, including the Dunlop Swingweight and the Prince Precision Tuning Centre\, plus balance boards and lead flying everywhere. Mostly it will be tennis rackets but we also want to include squash and badminton rackets. Certificates awarded at the end of the day. Cost is £199.00. 9.15am through to 5pm. The club has all the usual facilities and includes a bar so that we do not die of thirst. Its a 9.30am start and 5.30pm finish. \nThe UKRSA now offers one-day courses. These can be either TENNIS\, SQUASH or BADMINTON. The stringing techniques are broadly similar for all racket sports though. \nWe will provide all of the equipment\, no need to bring anything except pen and paper for notes. Usual club facilities for refreshments\, but perhaps bring your own food. \nI will be your tutor for the day. We will have a selection of stringing machines\, mostly electronic. The course is ideal for those new to stringing or those already stringing who wish to increase their skills and knowledge\, plus achieve the certification by the end of the busy day. \nYou can bring along your own rackets to work on if you wish\, we may have time and opportunity for them. Though I will have a comprehensive assortment of rackets\, strings\, tools and machines. All you need is pen and paper plus a large box of ENTHUSIASM! \nDunlop Sports is now working with the UKRSA to support the training courses and other events\, plus supply tournament stringing teams\, so you will have some free strings and grips courtesy of Dunlop. SUMMARY:One-Day BADMINTON STRINGER course - Warrington - 22nd May 2022
DESCRIPTION:Your course tutor for the busy day will be Paul Stewart\, one of the UK’s top badminton stringers and coach\,. He will take you through all of the racket servicing skills and by the end of the day you should be able to string rackets to a high standard. The course is suitable for those new to stringing\, or those already stringing and who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge. Paul is the UKRSA Badminton “Guru” and his experience and vast knowledge is legendary. \nYou may bring your own machine along if you wish\, just let Paul know in advance. A familiar machine can help to grasp new skills and knowledge. \nThe course will be run at 20 Woodbridge Close\, Appleton\, Warrington\, Cheshire. WA45RD. \nCourse starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5.30pm. \nCourse fee of £199 includes one years UKRSA membership which allows you to access the UKRSA Technical Forum where you will be able to chat about rackets and strings and no matter what problem you may come across\, someone there has already got the answer! Plus UKRSA members have access to lots of product discounts from many brands. \nFood – Bring along a packed lunch\, tea/coffee etc will be provided. \nCovid – Restrictions now eased off\, but you may wear a mask if you wish throughout the day. This time round its a one-day Tennis Stringer OR Squash Stringer course. We will be covering all aspects of racket servicing across tennis and squash\, suitable for both those new to stringing or those already stringing who may wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge\, perhaps tennis coaches aiming to achieve 6 CPD points. Ages 12yrs to 112yrs! You can focus entirely on either tennis or squash. \nWe are located on a squash court\, so plenty of room\, refreshments provided\, please bring your own food.  Your tutor for this course is Liam nolan\, UKRSA Technical Director & Founder who is also a squash coach who has played many matches on the court! Resident club stringer and British Open stringer Neil Gridley will also be instructing. \nThose already stringing may wish to bring along their own machine to use. We can then get it checked out\, tensioning calibrated etc. You can bring along some rackets to restring if you wish as we may have enough time. Certification will be awarded at the end of the day providing there has been sufficient skills and knowledge gained. \nThe aim of the course is to get course members able to do all general servicing tasks such as stringing\, regripping\, stencilling\, “problem rackets” and have a good understanding of ball and string dynamics. \nCourse fee includes free strings and grips\, UKRSA years membership so that you can access the various company offers and the excellent Technical Forum where there is a solution to every problem. SUMMARY:SOLIHULL - Professional Stringer course 26th & 27th April 2022
DESCRIPTION:Where to Find Solihull Arden Club \n \nIts been a while since we last ran a course in Solihull and now we are pleased to announce a return! The Solihull Arden Club was founded back in 1873. Ideal for both beginners (and those already stringing) wishing to learn the skills of racket servicing across all racket sports. We will have electronic and manual machines for you to use. All materials provided. You may bring along your own racket to work on if there is time. 9.30am start and 4.30pm finish both days. Your tutor will be Liam Nolan UKRSA Technical Director and former Wimbledon Head Stringer. The club has excellent facilities. Tennis coaches will appreciate the six CPD points per day of the course. These should be applied for direct to the LTA after the course.\nCovid – masks are not required\, but you may wear one if you wish. \nYou can “click & book” on the site or contact Liam at liam@ukrsa.com direct\, plus ask as many questions as you wish. There is no actual Test at the end. Provided you have worked hard and achieved a reasonable level of skills and knowledge then you can expect to receive your certification at the end of the course. If not then you may attend another similar course again for half price. It will be a friendly but busy two days. You should end up being capable of restringing rackets to a professional standard\, plus regripping and other general racket servicing tasks.
