SUMMARY:LONDON - TENNIS STRINGER one-day course. Sunday 14th December 2025. Putney LTC. FULL
DESCRIPTION:Venue – Founded in 1879\, Putney Lawn Tennis Club was originally created as a tennis and archery club\, located on the site of the Old Fire Station in Putney. As the popularity of the club continued to grow after the Second World War\, the then Committee eventually decided to move it to a bigger plot and came upon its current home\, just off Balmuir Gardens.\nCourse starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm\, short lunch break around midday. Attracts 6 CPD points for LTA tennis coaches if sufficient progress is made.\nSuitable for all abilities\, from complete beginners wishing to grasp the skills and understanding around racket servicing\, to those already stringing and wishing to achieve the UKRSA Tennis Stringer  certification.\nMachines and materials are provided. Usually a machine is shared between two course members. Course members can sometimes work on their own rackets if suitable\, though the tutor will have some anyway.\nThe Aim of the course is to get course members able to restring\, regrip and do other basic racket servicing skills to a good standard on TENNIS RACKETS. The real learning follows afterwards through much practice and experience. Course fee includes UKRSA membership for the first year and access to the valuable Technical Forum where you can chat with other stringers.\nPre-course technical information will be emailed out in advance. No “final exam” instead there is continual assessment of competence and effort and if all goes well\, the certificates will be awarded at the end of the day.\nFood and drinks usually available from the club bar\, but feel free to bring your own if you wish. No car parking provided within the club grounds\, so do allow some extra time to park up on nearby roads. \nTutor is Liam Nolan Jnr\, with 30 years of professional stringing experience in the UK and abroad.
