SUMMARY:Professional Stringer course - Lewes - 1st & 2nd May 2022
DESCRIPTION:The beautiful South Down Sports Club near Lewes will be the venue for a two – day course covering all aspects of racket servicing for Tennis\, Squash and Badminton. Suitable for all abilities\, whether an absolute beginner to stringing or an experienced stringer wishing to upgrade skills and knowledge\, plus achieve the certification. https://www.southdownsportsclub.co.uk/ \nAll equipment supplied\, you will just need your enthusiasm\, pen and paper. Those with a stringing machine may wish to bring it along to work on by prior  arrangement with tutor Steve Bloomfield. Coaches wishing to gain the 12 CPD points need to apply direct to the LTA after successful completion of the course. You may bring along some rackets to work on if you wish but please clean thoroughly first. Covid – masks not required but can be worn throughout if wished. We will be using a squash court\, so plenty of space to work in. Certification awarded at the end of the course if sufficient progress made.\nAll racket servicing skills will be covered – Types of strings\, why strings break\, how strings perform on ball impact\, stringing patterns\, types of rackets\, problem rackets\, overcoming problems\, stringing for players with specific needs\, stencilling\, re-gripping\, setting up a stringing business and lots more. \nTime – Course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm each day. \nFood – The club has its own cafe which is open on the Sunday\, but closed on the Monday. This time round its a one-day Tennis Stringer OR Squash Stringer course. We will be covering all aspects of racket servicing across tennis and squash\, suitable for both those new to stringing or those already stringing who may wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge\, perhaps tennis coaches aiming to achieve 6 CPD points. Ages 12yrs to 112yrs! You can focus entirely on either tennis or squash. \nWe are located on a squash court\, so plenty of room\, refreshments provided\, please bring your own food.  Your tutor for this course is Liam nolan\, UKRSA Technical Director & Founder who is also a squash coach who has played many matches on the court! Resident club stringer and British Open stringer Neil Gridley will also be instructing. \nThose already stringing may wish to bring along their own machine to use. We can then get it checked out\, tensioning calibrated etc. You can bring along some rackets to restring if you wish as we may have enough time. Certification will be awarded at the end of the day providing there has been sufficient skills and knowledge gained. \nThe aim of the course is to get course members able to do all general servicing tasks such as stringing\, regripping\, stencilling\, “problem rackets” and have a good understanding of ball and string dynamics. \nCourse fee includes free strings and grips\, UKRSA years membership so that you can access the various company offers and the excellent Technical Forum where there is a solution to every problem. SUMMARY:One-Day BADMINTON STRINGER course - Warrington - 22nd May 2022
DESCRIPTION:Your course tutor for the busy day will be Paul Stewart\, one of the UK’s top badminton stringers and coach\,. He will take you through all of the racket servicing skills and by the end of the day you should be able to string rackets to a high standard. The course is suitable for those new to stringing\, or those already stringing and who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge. Paul is the UKRSA Badminton “Guru” and his experience and vast knowledge is legendary. \nYou may bring your own machine along if you wish\, just let Paul know in advance. A familiar machine can help to grasp new skills and knowledge. \nThe course will be run at 20 Woodbridge Close\, Appleton\, Warrington\, Cheshire. WA45RD. \nCourse starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5.30pm. \nCourse fee of £199 includes one years UKRSA membership which allows you to access the UKRSA Technical Forum where you will be able to chat about rackets and strings and no matter what problem you may come across\, someone there has already got the answer! Plus UKRSA members have access to lots of product discounts from many brands. \nFood – Bring along a packed lunch\, tea/coffee etc will be provided. \nCovid – Restrictions now eased off\, but you may wear a mask if you wish throughout the day. All of the equipment and materials will have been cleansed in advance. \nYou may bring along your own rackets to work on if you want and if time allows. There is so much to cover apart from the actual stringing. Gripping by itself can be a real skill! \nCertification will be awarded at the end of the day if the right level of skills and knowledge is achieved. \nYou will have a wonderful day\, something to look back on in years to come.
