DESCRIPTION:The beautiful South Down Sports Club near Lewes will be the venue for a one-day course covering all aspects of racket servicing for Squash. Suitable for all abilities\, whether an absolute beginner to stringing or an experienced stringer wishing to upgrade skills and knowledge. https://www.southdownsportsclub.co.uk/ \nAll equipment supplied\, all you will need is your enthusiasm\, pen and paper. Those with a stringing machine may wish to bring it along to work on by prior  arrangement with Liam Nolan. You may bring along some rackets to work on if you wish\, though as for ALL the equipment used on the day\, the rackets will need to be cleaned thoroughly before handing. Covid restriction will be in force\, masks not required but can be worn throughout if wished. We will be using a squash court\, so plenty of space to work in. Certification awarded at the end of the day if sufficient progress made.\nAll racket servicing skills will be covered – Types of strings\, why strings break\, how strings perform on ball impact\, stringing patterns\, types of rackets\, problem rackets\, overcoming problems\, stringing for players with specific needs\, stencilling\, re-gripping\, setting up a stringing business and lots more. \nTime – Course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm. \nFood – The club has its own cafe. \nTutors – Liam Nolan and Steve Bloomfield

Course fee includes one years UKRSA membership\, which allows access to the UKRSA members forum and manufacturers discounts. Apart from the actual stringing techniques\, we will also cover re-gripping\, handle re-sizing\, stencilling\, grommet strip replacement\, single grommet repair\, machine selection and maintenance/calibration and how to run a successful stringing service.\nWe will observe coronavirus awareness\, so any rackets or machines brought to the course MUST be properly cleansed beforehand. We will have available a range of hand sanitisers for your use. We are club guests and so will follow the rules of the club at all times.\nThere will be a range of electronic and manual machines in use.
